Cha Eun Woo has taken the first steps toward his mandatory military service by applying to join the army’s military band.
On May 9th, his agency Fantagio confirmed, “Cha Eun Woo recently applied to the military band and completed his interview. He’s now waiting for the results.” The outcome will be announced on May 29th via the Military Manpower Administration’s website. If accepted, he’s expected to enlist sometime in July.
For now, Cha remains busy with his current projects. He’s in the middle of filming the Netflix original series The Wonderfuls and is set to appear in the upcoming movie First Ride (working title). He’s also scheduled to perform with ASTRO in concerts across Korea and Japan this June. It looks like he’ll be wrapping up all of his planned activities before heading off to the military.
Born in 1997, Cha Eun Woo made his debut with ASTRO and has since made a name for himself as both an idol and actor, starring in hits like Gangnam Beauty, True Beauty and Island. His decision to apply to the military band is seen as a way to continue using his musical and performance talents even while serving.
