A fan-favorite webtoon is getting the drama treatment—and its potential leads are already generating buzz.
Hwang In Youp, Cho Yi Hyun, and THE BOYZ’s Younghoon are in talks to star in the upcoming series Romance 101, based on the hit webtoon of the same name.
According to industry sources on April 2nd, Hwang In Youp has been offered the role of male lead Na Yu Yeon and is currently working out scheduling details.
Cho Yi Hyun is set to take on the role of Jung Ba Reum, a diligent college student who lives by careful planning but is a complete beginner when it comes to dating. Her relatable journey into first love is expected to resonate with viewers.
Younghoon has also been offered a key role as Shin Jae Hyun, a charming second male lead who brings a different appeal from Na Yu Yeon. His character forms one corner of the drama’s central love triangle.
Based on the popular webtoon by Namsoo, Romance 101 follows Jung Ba Reum as she steps out of her carefully structured life and takes on the unpredictable world of romance. The original series built a strong fanbase, and news of a Korean adaptation alone has already sparked major anticipation. Notably, the story was first adapted into a drama in Japan in 2022 before making its way to Korea.
With casting discussions underway, excitement is building for how the beloved characters will come to life on screen.
