Voting for the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards popularity award is officially underway—and the early numbers are already drawing attention.
As of April 23rd at noon KST, the Baeksang Awards launched their official popularity vote through the event’s designated app, allowing fans to cast their ballots for their favorite stars in both male and female categories.
Currently topping the male category is Byeon Woo Seok, who has garnered over 320,000 votes, with Park Bo Gum following at over 120,000 votes. Jung Hae In and Lee Jun Hyuk are next in line with over 40,000 and 30,000 votes, respectively.
On the female side, Hyeri leads by a landslide, surpassing 1 million votes, while IU trails behind with 760,000, followed by Kim Hye Yoon with 710,000 votes.
The list of male nominees also includes: Koo Kyo Hwan, Noh Sang Hyun, Dex, Park Bo Gum, Park Jung Min, Byeon Woo Seok, Song Geon Hee, Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Byung Hun, Lee Jun Hyuk, Jung Hae In, Jo Jung Suk, Ju Ji Hoon, Choo Young Woo, Hyun Bin, and more.
Other female nominees include: Go Min Si, Gong Seung Yeon, Kim Go Eun, Kim Tae Ri, Kim Hye Yoon, Roh Yoon Seo, Roh Jeong Eui, Song Hye Kyo, IU, Suzy, Hyeri, Lim Ji Yeon, Jeon Yeo Been, Jung Eun Chae, Ji Ye Eun, Hong Jin Kyung, and more.
Established in 1965, the Baeksang Arts Awards honor excellence in Korean film, television, and theater, and are widely regarded as one of the industry’s most prestigious ceremonies. This year marks the 61st edition of the show, which will be broadcast live on May 7th at 8 PM KST from COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, airing on JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4.
Fans can cast up to four votes per day until May 2nd at 4 PM KST through the official app.
