YouTuber Lee Jin Ho alleged that Kim Sae Ron was actually dating a singer during the time her family claimed she was in a relationship with Kim Soo Hyun.
“Kim Sae Ron was seeing another boyfriend back then,” Lee said in his YouTube video uploaded on April 11th.
“There’s clear evidence to support this,” he continued. “Kim Sae Ron’s boyfriend at the time was an anonymous singer. Their relationship lasted from early 2021 to May 17th, 2022.”
Lee explained that Kim Sae Ron and the anonymous singer were basically public about their relationship at the time. “Kim Sae Ron even anonymously sent a coffee truck to his music video set. She and her close celebrity friend also attended an official event hosted by him,” he said.
Lee went on to claim that Kim Sae Ron once spent the night at the singer’s apartment in Gangnam, where he was living with his mother. “Spending the night at a home where your boyfriend lives with his mother? That shows how close they were,” he stated.
According to Lee, Kim Sae Ron even messaged a friend on July 12th, 2021, saying she had stayed over at the singer’s house. Lee claimed to have confirmed the contents of this KakaoTalk message but said he would not reveal it publicly to protect the identity of the singer.
“It just doesn’t make sense that she would break up with Kim Soo Hyun on July 7th and then stay over at another man’s house just five days later,” he said. “There’s not a single part of her relationship timeline with Kim Soo Hyun that adds up—from when they supposedly took photos together to when they supposedly broke up.”

Lee also claimed that Kim Sae Ron’s DUI incident may have been strongly connected to her breakup with the anonymous singer.
On May 18th, 2022, Kim Sae Ron was involved in a drunk driving accident near Hakdong Intersection in Gangnam. Her blood alcohol level was 0.227%, nearly three times the legal limit for license cancellation.
Lee explained, “Kim Sae Ron was in the final stages of filming Bloodhounds at the time. She even had dubbing work scheduled for May 17th, but reportedly couldn’t handle the emotional aftermath of her breakup with the singer.”
“She skipped her scheduled recording session, and later that night around 4 AM, she called her younger friend and started drinking. The drinking continued from a pub in Apgujeong to a nearby karaoke bar until around 7:30 AM,” Lee said, adding that this timeline was revealed during her DUI trial through the testimony of her passenger that night.
As for the reason behind Kim Sae Ron and the anonymous singer’s breakup, Lee said, “It seems they broke up due to a common argument between lovers,” but emphasized that responsibility for the DUI should not be placed on the singer.
He concluded, “They met as adults and genuinely loved each other. I sincerely ask that people refrain from baseless speculation, especially as the anonymous singer is a private individual whose identity should remain protected.”
