Shin Mina sat down for an interview on April 9th to discuss her new Netflix series Karma.
Reflecting on her path as an actress, she shared, “I’ve been thinking about this since my debut. Even in recent years, I’ve had a lot of concerns about where I stand and what I’m doing as an actress.”
She continued, “But things haven’t always gone the way I imagined. Sometimes I wonder if it even matters what I think. In the end, I can only choose from the roles I’m offered, and all I can do is give my best to the work that comes my way.”
Known for her iconic roles in romantic comedies and often hailed as the “rom-com queen,” Shin Mina was asked about being frequently mentioned as an ideal type by fellow celebrities. Laughing, she replied, “Not anymore! I think all those interviews were from a long time ago. Of course, I’m very grateful. It feels good to hear things like that. I’d love to keep that image up, but I don’t think it’ll be easy moving forward.”
When asked whether her boyfriend, Kim Woo Bin, ever gets jealous of those comments, Shin Mina laughed and said, “Not at all.”
Regarding Kim Woo Bin’s thoughts on Karma she shyly added, “He said he enjoyed watching it.”
She also spoke about her views on charitable giving. “I used to think good deeds should be done quietly. But I’ve realized that when influential people donate publicly, it can inspire others to join in. I believe those who are in a more fortunate position should help those in need. Even if just one person is inspired by the news of a donation, I think that’s meaningful.”
Known as a “donation couple” with Kim Woo Bin due to their consistent philanthropic efforts, Shin Mina was asked if they coordinate their donations. She responded carefully, “We don’t really discuss it beforehand. There have just been many causes to support lately, and a lot of people have been donating. I think we probably just naturally ended up doing it together.”
