
Fellow celebrities who shared a close bond with Moonbin are preparing a tribute song to mark the second anniversary of his passing on April 19th, according to industry insiders on March 27th.
This special project will feature ASTRO members Cha Eun Woo, MJ, Jinjin and Sanha, as well as Moonbin’s younger sister, Moon Sua of Billlie. Additionally, SEVENTEEN’s Boo Seungkwan and DK, along with VIVIZ’s SinB, who were close friends of Moonbin as part of the ‘98-liners’ group, will also participate.
Last year, ASTRO touched fans’ hearts with the tribute song “Fly” on Moonbin’s first anniversary. Boo Seungkwan and Cha Eunwoo also expressed their deep affection for him through their respective tribute songs, “Dandelion” and “Stalker”.
Cha Eun Woo reportedly took the lead in bringing together the artists for this project and actively reached out to organize the tribute. Many colleagues have come together with a shared desire to honor Moonbin’s memory.
Fans continue to express their love and remembrance for Moonbin as well. His fandom has installed a large digital billboard near Cheongdam Station, where his agency, Fantagio, is located, to create a memorial atmosphere.
Moonbin tragically passed away at the age of 25 on April 19th, 2023, at his residence in Seoul. His sudden passing left the entertainment industry and countless fans in deep shock and sorrow.
Having begun his career as a child actor, Moonbin debuted as a member of ASTRO in 2016. Beyond his music career, he was also active in variety shows and dramas, earning widespread love and recognition.
Meanwhile, the tribute song for Moonbin’s 2nd anniversary is set to be released next month.
