Allure Korea unveiled a striking new pictorial with Cha Woo Min, the rising star whose consecutive appearances in today’s hottest dramas have made him Korean television’s most buzzed-about newcomer.

Cha has been meeting viewers consecutively as Pi Han Ul in TVING original Study Group, Woo Jung Hoo in Netflix original Melo Movie, and Ji Sun Woo in SBS’s new drama Buried Hearts, which began airing on the 21st.

In this photoshoot, Cha Woo Min, who has been delivering impressive performances through diverse characters in each project, showcased his refreshing and boyish charm. In the interview following the shoot, Cha discussed his process of portraying characters with distinctly different appeals across the three projects.

“I went through auditions for all three projects. The most memorable audition was for Han Ul. During the second audition, I only received Han Ul’s script, but another applicant received scripts for both Han Ul and Se Hyun (played by Lee Jong Hyun). When I told the director I wanted to try for Se Hyun’s role too, he firmly said, ‘You are Han Ul.’ I was arguing back and forth trying to convince the director at the audition site,” he said with sparkling eyes.

He continued, “When preparing for a project, I enjoy finding references to prepare for a character. The moment when I can create something is the most fun. I watch countless movies, even unrelated ones, while waiting for ideas to come to me. This gives me an excuse to binge-watch movies I’ve been putting off,” sharing the joy he finds in his creative process.

Cha Woo Min, who debuted in 2021, has been diligently building his own solid filmography each year with works such as Weak Hero Class 1 and Night Has Come. He revealed, “What I’ve learned and realized harshly over the past 5 years is that when I feel pressure and burden, I don’t think of it as being pushed down, but rather that I’ve leveled up and hit some kind of wall. And when that burden lessens, it’s not that I’ve fallen, but that I’ve broken through the wall and climbed higher,” sharing a glimpse into his own solid belief.
