At the online press conference for tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama My Dearest Nemesis today, Moon Ga Young opened up about her experience leading a romance with co-star Choi Hyun Wook, who is six years her junior.
The event was attended by director Lee Soo Hyun and cast members Moon Ga Young, Choi Hyun Wook, Lim Se Mi, and Kwak Si Yang.
“It was a new experience,” Moon shared about working with her younger co-star. “I was always the youngest on set, but this time, I felt a sense of responsibility as the older one. While filming with Hyun Wook, I realized there’s so much to learn regardless of age.” She added, “He’s such a sensible actor. There were many scenes that were only possible because it was Choi Hyun Wook. His improvs were fantastic. We laughed so much during filming.”
Choi Hyun Wook reciprocated the praise: “This is my first time leading a romance drama. I relied heavily on ‘romance queen’ Ga Young and learned a lot from her. We came up with quite a few spontaneous improvs. She was so receptive that I could act confidently and had so much fun.”
Based on the popular Naver webtoon, My Dearest Nemesis follows the story of team leader Baek Soo Jung (Moon Ga Young), a “division head killer” haunted by her dark past, and Ban Joo Yeon (Choi Hyun Wook), a new division head bearing a “Black Dragon” in his heart.
The 12-episode series is set to premiere on Monday, February 17th, at 8:50 PM KST.
