Drama Ranking for 5th Week of January

Netflix’s medical drama The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call has surged to the top spot with overwhelmingly positive audience reception. Unlike Squid Game 2, which garnered mixed reviews despite its high buzz when released in December, The Trauma Code is earning praise from viewers. While some critics point out that the male lead follows a familiar K-drama trope of the discourteous character, Ju Ji Hoon has captured audiences’ attention, reaching number one in the cast rankings for the first time.

Riding on The Trauma Code‘s success, Squid Game 2 has climbed back to second place. Netflix has announced that season 3 will premiere on June 27th. SBS’s Love Scout dropped to third place following an unexpected Friday broadcast cancellation, though leads Lee Joon Hyuk and Han Ji Min’s passionate kiss scene generated significant buzz. tvN’s When the Stars Gossip landed at fourth place, struggling to regain viewers despite moving its setting from space to Earth. TVING’s Study Group debuted at 7th place, earning praise as a fresh take on the school drama genre.
