The drama is based on the web novel Trauma Center: Golden Hour, written by a practicing physician, adding to its authenticity. The original author appeared on the YouTube channel “DOCTORFRIENDS” on January 23rd, playfully noting, “Since this is season 1, the story isn’t fully concluded. People will be curious about what happens next. They’ll look up my webtoon or web novel. And you have to pay for those. So what does that mean? I’ll make a lot of money.”
