tvN has dropped the first look at Moon Ga Young and Choi Hyun Wook in My Dearest Nemesis. The series, which promises a fresh spin on office romance with an otaku twist, adapts Hye Jin Yang’s popular Naver webtoon under the helm of Delightfully Deceitful director Lee Soo Hyun and writer Kim Soo Yeon.

The series stars Moon Ga Young as Baek Soo Jung, a ruthless department head notorious for being a “director killer,” alongside Choi Hyun Wook as Ban Joo Yeon, a chaebol heir harboring a secret passion for action figures. The stellar cast is rounded out by Lim Se Mi as Seo Ha Jin and Kwak Si Yang as Kim Shin Won.

Moon portrays Yongsung Department Store’s youngest planning department team leader, whose hard-edged professional life takes an unexpected turn when her new boss turns out to be her first love—and the person in her most embarrassing past. Baek Soo Jung has earned the notorious nickname “director killer” for her fearless confrontations with unreasonable superiors throughout her career, establishing herself as the department’s top performer with an unstoppable work ethic.

The newly released stills capture Moon’s character in her element, showcasing her intimidating gaze as she sizes up her new superior, while other images reveal her dedication to her team—staying behind alone in the dimly lit office long after sending her team members home for the day.

Meanwhile, Choi Hyun Wook’s Ban Joo Yeon presents a study in contrasts. As the third-generation chaebol heir and strategy planning director, he meticulously maintains a flawless public image, secretly concealing his otaku alter ego “Black Dragon” in his desperate bid for recognition as a worthy successor.

The first-look images show him cutting an impressive figure in tailored suits as the strategy planning director, while other shots reveal his secret life as an avid figurine collector. In one particularly telling scene, he’s shown wearing latex gloves while handling his precious collectibles with more care than official documents. His carefully constructed world begins to unravel when Baek Soo Jung accidentally discovers this hidden side of her superior.

My Dearest Nemesis premieres February 17th on tvN.
