Jang Da Ah has shared her thoughts on being known as the older sister of IVE’s Jang Wonyoung.
In TVING drama Pyramid Game, Jang Da Ah plays the role of Baek Ha Rin, the granddaughter of the Baekyeon Group and a student of Baekyeon Girls’ High School. Despite being a fresh face in the industry, she garnered praise for her grounded performance and ability to convey subtle emotions in the series.
Jang Da Ah received significant attention even before her acting debut for being IVE member Jang Wonyoung’s older sister. However, she revealed that her sister had no influence on her decision to pursue a career as an actress.
“We each had our own dreams, and it was just a coincidence that we ended up in the entertainment industry,” she said. “My sister did not influence my decision to become an actress. Acting has always been my passion and I love expressing emotions through performance.”
When asked if she felt any pressure starting her acting career with the label of “Jang Wonyoung’s older sister,” Jang Da Ah said, “The public already knew about it before I made my debut, so I thought it was something that would follow me regardless of my will.”
“I think that as time goes on and I continue to act, I will be able to establish myself as an actress and the label will naturally disappear,” she added.
Jang Da Ah studied dance at Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, where she majored in Korean dance. Before launching her acting career through an audition, she completed her studies at Ewha Womans University, majoring in global sports industry at the Department of Physical Education and Science.
