Exhuma has achieved the number one spot at the box office for the entire opening week according to the Korean Film Council’s Integrated Computer Network as of Monday, February 26th. With 1,963,554 admissions over the opening weekend and a cumulative total of 2,299,706 admissions, the film is creating a sensation in theaters.
Despite opening on a Thursday, Exhuma surpassed both the opening weekend and first-week admissions of the 2023 blockbuster, 12.12: The Day. Additionally, it set the record for the highest opening score of 2024, reaching 1 million and 2 million admissions faster than any other film released this year. Exhuma also smashed the single-day admission record for 2024 with over 770,000 admissions on Saturday and over 818,000 on Sunday.
The film is maintaining a near-perfect score of 95% on the CGV Golden Egg Index as of Monday and is currently playing in theaters across South Korea.
