After a four-year hiatus from the romantic drama scene, Jung Yu Mi is set to grace the small screen once again, teaming up with Ju Ji Hoon in a heart-fluttering leading role. According to DongA on the 21st, the duo has agreed to star in a new romance drama, signaling a highly anticipated on-screen partnership.

Originally known under the working title “Love on a Log Bridge,” the drama’s name is currently under reconsideration. The story unfolds around two individuals who, after parting ways due to family opposition at the tender age of 18, cross paths once again 15 years later. The drama promises to chart their tumultuous journey back to each other, overcoming destiny and numerous obstacles along the way.

Jung Yu Mi steps into the shoes of Yoon Ji Won, rekindling a relationship with her high school sweetheart, portrayed by Ju Ji Hoon, in adulthood. This marks her first drama lead since the 2020 Netflix series The School Nurse Files, stirring excitement about the return of Jung Yu Mi’s “Yumvely” charm, a term affectionately coined by fans to describe her endearing on-screen presence.

Ju Ji Hoon’s venture back into the realm of romance dramas for the first time since MBC’s Princess Hours in 2006 has already sparked significant buzz within the industry.

The creative helm of this eagerly awaited drama is led by director Park Joon Hwa, known for his work on global hit romance dramas such as Because This Is My First Life, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, and the Alchemy of Souls series. The script is penned by Lim Ye Jin of Love in the Moonlight and The Tale of Nokdu. As the production team fine-tunes the drama’s settings and storyline, casting for main and supporting roles is expected to commence soon.
