In the upcoming film Exhuma, Kim Go Eun will captivate audiences with her portrayal of the charismatic shaman Hwa Rim.

Exhuma is an occult mystery movie about strange events unfolding around a geomancer, an undertaker, and shamans after they relocate a suspicious grave for a large sum of money. It is the latest work of director Jang Jae Hyun, known for The Priests and Svaha: The Sixth Finger.

Hwa Rim, a young shaman with unparalleled skills in the country, initiates the unfolding events by suggesting the exhumation to the geomancer Sang Deok (Choi Min Sik) and the undertaker Young Geun (Yoo Hae Jin). Kim Go Eun talked about preparing for her role, “Since it’s a role that needed to show professionalism, I put in a lot of effort not to look amateurish. I even got the personal number of a real shaman, contacted them regularly, and visited their home. For the ritual scenes, I watched videos and rehearsed multiple times to perfect the details.”

Her dedication to embodying the character has heightened expectations for her performance. The release of the trailer, featuring her flawlessly conducting a major shamanic ritual, has surged viewers’ interest in Exhuma. The movie is scheduled for release in theaters next month.
