The Berlinale Special Gala section, where The Roundup: Punishment has been invited, is one of the festival’s most versatile programs that showcase a variety of works combining artistry and entertainment. The Roundup: Punishment became the first Korean franchise film to grace this gala section. The film received accolades after it was shown to the programmers, and the positive reception played a significant role in the film being chosen and featured in the special showcase section of the Berlin International Film Festival. Mark Peranson, the Head of Programming of the Berlinale, expressed, “There is no better place to showcase the energetic blend of action and comedy in The Roundup: Punishment than at the Berlin International Film Festival.”
