Song Joong Ki announced that he is married to Katy Louise Saunders in January of this year. They held their official wedding in February and welcomed their son in June.

Reportedly, it’s thanks to a mutual friend that the couple first met each other in Italy after Joong Ki finished filming Vincenzo. There were rumors circulating that Katy was his Italian teacher for the hit 2021 K-drama, but Korean media outlet Dispatch stated that this was not true.

February – Seo In Young

Seo In Young got married to a businessman running a semiconductor company in February of this year. She kept her wedding private out of respect for her non-celebrity husband, but divorce rumors surfaced just seven months later in September. When news broke that her husband had filed for divorce, she immediately denied it in an interview.

April – Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In

Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In tied the knot in April in a lavish ceremony in Seoul. With a public relationship of only two years, their wedding gathered much attention for featuring star-studded guests and well-wishers. The couple is currently expecting their second child, with the due date set for February next year.

May – SE7EN and Lee Da Hae

SE7En and Lee Da Hae finally tied the knot after dating for 8 years. They began their relationship in 2015, made it public in 2016, and officially became a married couple in May of this year. The couple shared their love story and newlywed life on SBS’s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2: You Are My Destiny.

June – Uhm Hyun Kyung and Cha Seo Won

Uhm Hyun Kyung and Cha Seo Won garnered attention with their premarital pregnancy announcement. The couple, who co-starred in the drama The Second Husband last year, confirmed their relationship in June and shared the news of their son’s birth in October. Cha Seo Won is currently serving in the military with plans to hold a wedding ceremony after his discharge.

July – Shim Hyung Tak and Hirai Saya

Shim Hyung Tak officially became the lucky guy married to his 18-year-younger Japanese sweetheart Hirai Saya. After four years of dating, they threw a fabulous wedding bash in both Japan and South Korea this July. On a side note, Saya’s got everyone talking with her striking resemblance to BTS member Jungkook before their blissful marriage.

September – Ahn Hye Kyung

Former weathercaster Ahn Hye Kyung tied the knot with Song Yo Hoon, the director of the drama Vincenzo. The wedding caught attention for featuring a star-studded guest list, including Song Joong Ki, who emceed the wedding, and other celebrities such as Lee Hyori and Park Seo Joon. After the wedding, she shared the joy of her newlywed life and revealed that the Vincenzo star even booked a hotel in Rome for three days for their honeymoon.
