Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun are teaming up as investigative partners in the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama Chaebol X Detective (literal title).
Chaebol X Detective is a story about a carefree chaebol who becomes a detective in a violent crimes unit. The screenplay is penned by Kim Bada, the writer of My Name, and directed by Kim Jae Hong, the co-director of Through the Darkness and Revenant.
Ahn Bo Hyun takes on the role of Jin Yi Soo, a childish and carefree chaebol who loves having fun. He is a chaebol catching chaebols, utilizing not only the immense wealth and connections of his family but also his brilliant cognitive abilities and various skills he picked up through his playful lifestyle to eradicate criminals.
Park Ji Hyun portrays Lee Kang Hyun, an investigation enthusiast and the first female team leader in the violent crimes unit. Lee Kang Hyun is a veteran detective with savvy social skills who is fiercely dedicated to apprehending criminals. However, her detective life encounters a significant turning point when she reluctantly partners with Jin Yi Soo, a thorn in her side, changing her career trajectory dramatically.
Another aspect to look forward to is Ahn Bo Hyun and Park Ji Hyun’s reunion as investigative partners. The pair previously showcased their on-screen chemistry in the drama Yumi’s Cells as “pretend” friends.
Meanwhile, Chaebol X Detective will premiere in January 2024.
