The upcoming TVING original series A Week Before I Die (literal title) announced the casting of Gong Myung and Kim Min Ha.

A Week Before I Die paints the picture of a youth fantasy romance where Hee Wan (Kim Min Ha), a 24-year-old living a lethargic, shut-in life, is visited by her childhood friend and first love, Ram Woo (Gong Myung), now a grim reaper. The story revolves around these two as they reunite a week before Hee Wan’s predicted death, uncovering secrets from their high school days they never knew and searching for the meaning of life and love.

Kim Ram Woo, played by Gong Myung, appeared before Hee Wan six years after his death as a grim reaper. He shakes up her listless life upside down by completing the extraordinary bucket list tasks together. The actor will show a transformative performance as a grim reaper who conceals his feelings for his first love.

Kim Min Ha steps into the role of Jung Hee Wan, who faces her imminent death after wasting her youth without laughter. The Pachinko actress is expected to showcase a wide range of emotions as Hee Wan, transitioning between a bright, mischievous high school girl and a listless 24-year-old.

Glitch director Roh Deok joins the project as a creator, while director Choi Ha Na, who made her director debut with More Than Family, helms the production. The production team stated, “A Week Before I Die is based on the novel of the same name by author Seo Eun Chae, and it has consistently garnered expectations from readers since the announcement of its adaptation. Through the story of Ram Woo and Hee Wan completing a last-week bucket list, we hope to deliver warm empathy and consolation to the audience.”

Meanwhile, A Week Before I Die is set to be released in 2025.
