The upcoming drama Boss-dol Mart (literal title), starring Lee Sin Young, EXO’s Xiumin, and MONSTA X’s Hyungwon, is gearing up for its release.
Boss-dol Mart is a youth comedy-drama that narrates the story of an idol group unexpectedly disbanded and their venture into the supermarket business. The drama depicts the haphazard life reboot of “Thunder Boys,” who are confronted with the harsh reality where dreams, jobs, and futures are lost in an instant.
The unveiled group poster shines with the five members of Thunder Boys — Lee Sin Young, Xiumin, Hyungwon, Choi Won Myeong, and Lee Sae On — as well as veteran part-timer Choi Jung Un.
Leader Choi Ho Rang (Lee Sin Young), main dancer Shin Tae Ho (Xiumin), rapper Choi Joon (Hyungwon), vocalist Eun Young Min (Choi Won Myeong), and youngest member Yoon Sang Woo (Lee Sae On) experience the bitter failure of disbandment due to an unforeseen accident, just as they thought they had reached the pinnacle of their dreams.
Scattered and leading separate lives for five years, they discover that they are the owners of a supermarket. Thus, these five individuals, who were living aimlessly in their late twenties with neither dreams nor hopes, unexpectedly take over a supermarket and embark on an extraordinary business venture. Seasoned part-timer Oh Ye Rim (Choi Jung Un) joins the newbie bosses, showcasing her impeccable leadership skills.
The production team stated, “Boss-dol Mart portrays the story of five young people who lose their dreams overnight and face the harsh reality, yet seize an unexpected opportunity to forge a new path in life. It’s a work that the youth of this generation, standing at the crossroads of dreams and reality, can sympathize with and enjoy.” Adding fuel to the anticipation, they continued, “You can also look forward to the refreshing chemistry of young actors, as vibrant energy will permeate throughout the production.”
Meanwhile, Boss-dol Mart, a collaboration of young talents like Best Mistake director Lee Yoo Yeon and Fly Again writer Jang Jeong Won, will have its first exclusive airing on TVING at 4 PM on Friday, September 15th KST.
