Nothing cripples a seemingly well-to-do celebrity marriage like the infamous “cheating rumor.” Whether it’s a misunderstanding or baseless gossip, the onus is on the accused to clear their names.
Choo Ja Hyun and Yu Xiaoguang broke their silence about infidelity rumors on the SBS show Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny. The couple initially found themselves entangled in controversy in July 2021 when a Chinese media outlet posted a short clip of Yu in a car with a woman on his lap. The agency quickly clarified that it was “an incident that happened after a gathering with acquaintances,” and the couple also showed remorse.
In the show, Yu lamented, “At first, I didn’t think it was a big deal. But the footage was maliciously edited.” He added, “I wanted to explain, but people didn’t seem willing to believe me.” The actor expressed his apology, “I believed that time would prove everything, but what I regret the most is causing pain to my wife.” Sitting across from his wife, Yu continued, “I still feel miserable. All I see are bad articles and news.” Hearing that, Choo responded, “But (your) gesture in the video was wrong. You admit your action was inappropriate, right? It was wrong.”
The dreamy couples Rain and Kim Tae Hee, and Jo Jung Suk and Gummy, were also ensnared by unexpected rumors of infidelity last October. A tabloid magazine claimed that two multi-talented, married male A-list stars were each in an affair with a golfer. They referred to them as “A” and “B,” which led to rampant speculations that they were Rain and Jo Jung Suk.
Rain initially tried to avoid a response but later decided to take legal action, stating, “As a human before being a celebrity, basic dignity, courtesy, and human rights should be respected.” Jo Jung Suk’s agency also refuted, “It’s absurd how various speculations are being treated as if they are facts.”

Lastly, DJ Koo (Koo Jun Yup) and Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu have been constantly suffering from various rumors since their marriage. Last December, a rumor surfaced that Koo had asked Hsu for a divorce as he regrets his decision to marry her. In response, Koo shared pictures detailing his whereabouts during a Taiwan concert, effectively quashing the infidelity rumors.
