Kim Hieora is finally resuming her acting career after resolving her school bullying controversy.

According to Starnews reporting on March 13th, Kim Hieora has been cast in the upcoming film The Savior (literal title), directed by Shin Jun, scheduled for release this year. This marks her return to acting approximately two years after her appearances in the tvN drama The Uncanny Counter 2 and the musical Frida in 2023.

Having concluded the school bullying controversy that surrounded her last April, Kim will make her long-awaited comeback through The Savior. This will be her second film following 2006’s The Fool On The Hill.

The Savior is an occult film depicting a family’s desperate struggle to escape a terrible curse given as the price for a desperately wanted miracle. Kim Byung Chul and Song Ji Hyo have been cast as the lead actors. The film will be directed by Shin Jun, who received acclaim for his film Yongsoon, which won the Daemyung Culture Wave Award at the 21st Busan International Film Festival. Kim Hieora reportedly plays the role of Chun Seo, a single mother raising her son alone.

Previously, Kim Hieora gained significant recognition for her memorable performance as Lee Sa Ra, a drug-addicted painter in the Netflix original series The Glory, which concluded to great popularity in March 2023. While her rising career briefly stalled when school bullying allegations emerged soon after, she was able to move forward when an amicable agreement was reached between all parties involved in April of the following year. Since then, she has been exploring potential projects for her return to the industry.

Meanwhile, The Savior has completed filming and is now entering post-production. It is scheduled for release later this year.
