The final rating for Pandora: Beneath the Paradise was a letdown at only 4.4%.

On the 1st, according to Nielsen Korea, tvN’s weekend drama Pandora ended with a viewership rating of 4.4%. This is a 0.7% increase from the previous episode, which recorded a 3.7% rating. The show started with a 4.9% rating in its first episode and peaked at 5.7%, but since the third episode, it has struggled in the average range of 3-4%.

In the final episode of the drama, Jang Gyo Jin (Hong Woo Jin) survived a massive explosion at a secret lab caused by Pyo Jae Hyun (Lee Sang Yoon) but suffered severe burns on his face. Go Hae Soo (Jang Hee Jin), Jang Do Jin (Park Ki Woong), and Jang Gyo Jin worked together to implant a chip in the back of Pyo Jae Hyun’s neck, making it appear as if he had died. After cutting him off from the world, they made him suffer in virtual reality.

Hong Tae Ra (Lee Ji Ah) lived a new life under her real name, Moon Ha Kyung. Go Hae Soo and Jang Do Jin decided to divorce and remain friends.

Min Young Hwi (Kyeon Mi Ri), who wanted to seize power by joining hands with Pyo Jae Hyun, still couldn’t let go of her obsession. Min Young Hwi met a miserable end while trying to protect her son Jang Gyo Jin from Pyo Jae Hyun who went on a rampage after escaping. He kidnapped Go Hae Soo as bait to lure Hong Tae Ra before meeting his own end.

Years later, Hong Tae Ra found happiness in Switzerland with her daughter Pyo Ji Woo (Kim Si Woo). However, Jang Gyo Jin, who came to visit Hong Tae Ra, had a large scar on his body from being struck by lightning, one looking quite similar to the one Pyo Jae Hyun got the night he killed Hong Yu Ra (Han So Yeon). At that moment, the person reflected in the mirror was not the smiling Jang Gyo Jin but the cold Pyo Jae Hyun, delivering a shocking twist.

Meanwhile, Tale of the Nine Tailed: 1938 will air its first episode on May 6th at 9:20 PM KST as the follow-up to Pandora.
