aespa and NCT didn’t mention SM Entertainment’s ex-producer Lee Soo Man’s name in their acceptance speeches at the 2022 Circle Chart Music Awards. On February 18th, the two groups each received the Artist of the Year for Digital Music (July) and Artist of the Year for Physical Album (1st quarter) at the event.
aespa shared, “We don’t know what the future holds for us, but we can guarantee that we’ll come back with great music. We are thankful to those who helped us behind the scenes, and we want to ask for your continuous support in the future. We want to thank our fans the most for loving and supporting us. We will come back with a great set of songs later this year. Please look forward to our new tunes and our concert slated for next week.”
NCT’s Doyoung said, “Our fans and staff members who always supported us earned us such an honorable award. I know that there’s nothing to be afraid of as long as we are backed by those who help, love and support us. NCT will become stronger and bigger this year. Please look forward to what we have in store for you.”
Notably, SM Entertainment’s artists shared their gratitude toward their label’s staff members instead of mentioning Lee Soo Man in their acceptance speeches.
