GOT7’s BamBam talked about how EXchange Season 2 helped him out.

On the 25th, BamBam appeared on MBC’s Radio Star and talked about gaining popularity as the host of EXchange Season 2, one of the biggest hit shows that aired last year. “I didn’t really think about it. I just said what came to mind,” the singer responded when he was praised for all his honest talk in the show that became a hot topic.

“I think the viewers sympathized with me a lot,” he went on. “I started as a guest, then became a regular member. Honestly, it felt like I was starting my life over again with EXchange Season 2.” The GOT7 member then opened up, “After my contract with JYP Ended, I was kind of sick of life in the entertainment industry. You know, I thought, ‘I really try and work hard, so why can’t I make it (in Korea)?’ So I was really gonna quit it.”

BamBam recalled the time he was looking for a new agency. “One of the labels was really obsessed. I refused them five times. The other label wanted to use me as they ventured into the Southeast Asia market now that the COVID is over,” he explained. “But (my current) label was the only one that contacted me, saying, ‘BamBam, you debuted in Korea. Don’t you want to be more popular here? We’ll promote mainly in Korea.’ I planned on retiring if things didn’t work out during my contract (with this label), but EXchange Season 2 became a hit.”
