The actor plays a charming middle-aged man named Ha Do Young, who gets caught up in Dong Eun’s (played by Song Hye Kyo) revenge plan against his wife.
He perfectly portrayed the loving father and affectionate husband who can be a little cold and cynical to people at times despite the perfect family and life he has. Jung’s muscular physique, deep yet calm voice and rare smile he only makes to his on-screen daughter perfected the role.
The scene where he gazes at Dong Eun after re-encountering her at the Go center adds dramatic tension to the series. The two are now in a complex relationship due to the trap Dong Eun had set for him, which makes the show all the more immersive to watch.
Jung Sung Il and his character Do Young are gaining more attention as Dong Eun’s revenge for Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon) nears the climax, and more viewers are anticipating his return in The Glory: Part 2.
Jung Sung Il starred in various plays, musicals and dramas such as Moonshine, Bad and Crazy and Our Blues.
