Kim Hyun Joong is currently being accused of not paying child support and visitation for eight years.
Former tabloid reporter Lee Jin Ho claimed on November 29th that the singer never paid his child support until September last year and that he had never met him in person until the end of last year. The reporter also revealed that Kim was initially ordered to pay $1,506 per month to his son but requested to lower the amount.
“The actor’s child would have been less hurt if he hadn’t met his child in the first place. Instead, he met him and applied for a child support adjustment. It’s a highly calculated move for him to return to the industry.”
On November 28th, Kim Hyun Joong appeared on MBN’s Passionate Goodbye and announced that he welcomed a new son just two months before the broadcast. Revealing to have been married to his first love, he gushed about his newborn son saying, “My son is starting to look more like me as he grows. Now I am a pro at changing diapers and giving him a bath.” When the episode aired, viewers criticized him as he seemed to be completely neglecting his first son born to his ex-girlfriend in 2015.
In the meantime, Kim Hyun Joong’s label HENECIA issued a lengthy statement regarding Lee’s remarks in his Youtube video. They explained what’s described in the video are tweaked facts that are only partially true.
