Song Joong Ki‘s revenge drama is winning hearts all across the country. JTBC’s Reborn Rich soared to new heights by achieving an average nationwide viewrship rating of 10 percent on its third episode.
Episodes 2 and 3 had Yoon Hyun Woo (played by Song Joong Ki) quickly adapting to a new life style as Jin Do Joon (Song Joong Ki) and his father Jin Yoon Ki (Kim Young Jae) being out of the succession line. That was when the Sunyang Group had a looming crisis to come.
Only Jin Do Joon knew what was coming in the year 1987 as he came from the future. He was not the person who would miss the chance, so he successfully won the heart of his grandfather Jin Yang Chul (Lee Sung Min), by giving him the right advice for presidential election funds and saving him from a hijacked airplane. There was a real reason he tried to become the group’s heir: to find out who killed him in his previous life. He hid his real motive and ambition until he became an adult to exact his revenge at the right moment.
However, unaware of his great motive, Jin Yang Chul showed great trust in his smart grandson, and his favoritism gradually got on the nerves of other family members.
The reunion between Do Joon and Seo Min Young (Shin Hyun Bin) also drew attention. He immediately became interested in her as she was just an ordinary college student instead of being the notorious prosecutor who was often dubbed as the ‘Grim Reaper of Sunyang.’
