Drama Ranking for the 3rd Week of October
tvN’s Under the Queen’s Umbrella topped the chart in just two weeks. Called the Joseon version of SKY Castle, the female characters that weren’t seen in other historical dramas are getting great responses. Of course, the actors’ performance that backs up these new characters is also impressive. However, there are some criticisms over historical inaccuracy. SBS’s One Dollar Lawyer dropped to second place. The reason seems to be its cancellation of the Friday episode without a particular reason. Moreover, the network announced that the show will end after episode 12 instead of episode 14 and the cancellation of another Friday broadcast due to the baseball postseason, leaving many disappointed. SBS’s Cheer Up kept its place in third place. The love triangle of Han Ji Hyeon, Bae In Hyuk, and Kim Hyun Jin is drawing keen attention. Bae In Hyuk has put his name on the cast rankings twice with Under the Queen’s Umbrella and Cheer Up. MBC’s The Golden Spoon, tvN’s Love in Contract, and KBS’s Bad Prosecutor were ranked in the same place as last week. The Golden Spoon and Love in Contract are receiving negative responses due to their dragging story, while Bad Prosecutor gains praise for its fast-paced development. MBC’s May I Help You? debuted at No.7. Though it might lack in terms of buzz-worthy elements, its touching and warm story has gained favorable reviews.

Mnet’s Show Me the Money 11 took first place from the premiere. While Lee Young Ji, the winner of High School Rapper 3, became the center of attention after she appeared as a participant, her rap performance and the reason she applied to compete in the show also became a hot topic. Mnet’s Street Man Fighter ranked second. The show became an object of ridicule after the news that tickets for their upcoming tour failed to sell out.
