Kim Yoo Jung shared various stories behind the movie at Netflix’s 20th Century Girl press conference held today. Kim Yoo Jung, Byeon Woo Seok, Park Jung Woo, Roh Yoon Seo and director Bang Woo Ri attended the event.
The actress said, “We had a chance to watch the film in a theater, and I think we’ve got lots of good energy from the cheering and support from the audience,” sharing what it was like having the show premiere at the Busan International Film Festival.
She also explained why she chose to star in the movie, saying, “I read the script in one sitting. I was happy to finally have this kind of movie in Korea. As I was reading the script, I wanted to star in the show, feel the sentiment and character.” She also shared, “Bora is a lovely girl. She is a person who cares for the people around her and does not know how to give up.”
She added, “We took a lot of pictures on set and stayed close to one another throughout the filming. I think such a bond was well captured in the movie.”
Kim played the young Han Hyo Joo in this film, and it is her third time playing the young version of the actress. She stated, “I met her again after a long time through this project. While working together, we exchange many ideas while supporting and cheering each other. I love the fact that I have worked with her multiple times since I was a real child, and I love her.”
20th Century Girl will be released on Netflix on October 21st.
