SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu and TWICE’s Nayeon made the cover of the October issues of ELLE Korea.

After the photoshoot, the two sat down for a short interview. Both SEVENTEEN and TWICE had a busy year with their world tour and album release. Mingyu, who completed SEVENTEEN’s North American tour “BE THE SUN” successfully, shared, “It was the best concert. Compared to our tour in 2019, which was three years ago, I felt that the number of local fans has increased. All the members really love performing on stage.”

TWICE became the first K-pop girl group to sell out two consecutive concerts held at the Banc of California Stadium in May. “All the members like to perform and are very greedy (about stages),” Nayeon dished. “We always come up with new attempts and ideas in the hope that the fans who come to the concert will never regret the time they spend with us.”

All members of SEVENTEEN and TWICE renewed their contracts. Mingyu said, “I know that the team SEVENTEEN is doing well, but it doesn’t really hit me: it finally hits me when I hear the cheers on the stage.” He added, “We were the last performer at last year’s AAA, and despite having to play a pre-recorded performance video, a lot of the singers gave us applause. I felt grateful and proud. SEVENTEEN has to strive forward even more.”

Nayeon commented, “All members stayed healthy during this promotion, and we even got to be with our fans through music shows, so I felt stable and at ease throughout the promotion.” She continued, “When I talk with the members, I realize that we often have the same mindset, goals, and thoughts regarding our work. The fact that we’re the closest friends and that we can become anything, sisters and family, is what is so special about this relationship.”
