From BTS to LE SSERAFIM, HYBE Labels Sold Over 10 Million Albums in the First Half of 2022

HYBE artists had sold over 10 million albums in the first half of this year, overwhelming the K-pop market.

According to the “First Half of 2022” chart released by Circle Chart (previously known as Gaon Chart), the total album sales for HYBE artists had reached 1,0604,142 copies, and this includes BTS, who ranked first, SEVENTEEN, fromis_9, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ENHYPEN, and LE SSERAFIM.

Based on this chart, HYBE Label’s market share in the K-pop music market in the first half of 2022 is over a third. The sales of the eight albums released this year alone amounted to 8,533,158.

In the case of BTS, a total of 12 smashes sold 4,367,736 copies, once again proving BTS to be the “21st-century pop icon.” The act’s latest album Proof ranked first with sales of 2,957,410 copies. SEVENTEEN followed the chart. SEVENTEEN’s 4th full album Face the Sun sold a total of 2,373,052 copies (excluding Weverse), taking second place. The group’s 3rd full album An Ode also put its name on the chart with 92,882 copies sold.

Trailing behind is TOMORROW X TOGETHER with their 4th mini-album minisode 2: Thursday’s Child that sold about 1,650,263 copies. TXT is the youngest group to be ranked within the Top 5 of the chart, showing off its presence as the 4th generation K-pop group. ENHYPEN ranked 9th (762,823 copies of DIMENSION: ANSWER), and LE SSERAFIM ranked 17th (415,654 copies of FEARLESS). Lastly, fromis_9 put all the albums they released this year within the Top 50 – Midnight Guest (41th with 141,375 copies), from our Memento Box (33th with 137,232 copies).
