SBS, MBC, and JTBC’s new dramas all premiered last weekend.
SBS’ Why Her? is off to a flying start as its first two episodes recorded an average nationwide viewership rating of 6 percent. However, MBC’s Doctor Lawyer and JTBC’s Cleaning UP premiered relatively quietly. Doctor Lawyer‘s rating dipped from 5.2 percent to 4.2 percent on its second episode, while Cleaning Up’s first two episodes recorded a 2 percent range of average viewership ratings.
Why Her? offered a speedy storyline as it unraveled the story of young Oh Soo Jae (played by Seo Hyun Jin) becoming the head of TK law firm, and then an affiliated professor at a law school. While Seo Hyun Jin’s charismatic acting received rave reviews, viewers had different opinions about the love story between the professor and the student.
The first two episodes of Doctor Lawyer showed how genius surgeon Han Yi Han (So Ji Sub) ended up becoming a medical malpractice lawyer due to a carefully plotted medical accident. Viewers are left wondering how the story will unfold as Han Yi Han seeks revenge against those who made his life miserable.
Cleaning Up tells the story of Eo Yong Mi (Yum Jung Ah) striving to raise her two daughters after clearing her gambling debts. The first two episodes showed Yong Mi jumping into stocks with Ahn In Kyung (Jeon So Min) and Maeng Soo Ja (Kim Jae Hwa) as she learned some secret information about insider trading.
