Joe Talbot’s new film The Governesses is slated to star Jung Ho Yeon, Lily Rose Depp and Renate Reinsve. The film is his sophomore feature for A24, following closely after his critically acclaimed feature debut The Last Black Mac in San Francisco.
The film is based on Anne Serre’s novel of the same name. The story follows three rebellious governesses who upend the family in which they serve, inspiring the boys in their care, kindling the imaginations of the bohemian couple who employ them and abandoning their duties for sensual adventures.
The Squid Game actress made her acting debut in the Netflix smash-hit series and her career has taken off since then. She will also be joining the cast of Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming Apple TV Plus thriller series Disclaimer, working alongside Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. The South Korean star has also just made a surprise appearance in The Weeknd’s “Out of Time” music video.
