tvN’s new weekend series Our Blues is an omnibus drama unfolding against the beautiful backdrop of Jeju Island. It tells the story of diverse characters that are somewhat interconnected, in one way or the other.

For the drama, Han Ji Min plays Lee Young Ok. She became a haenyeo (female divers) about a year ago after coming to Jeju Island, and at night, she runs a small pub. On the outside, she appears to be a bright and kind woman. But for some reason, she always keeps a distance from people, sparking various rumors around the haenyeo society.

The first stills released shows the double life that Lee Young Ok leads. During broad daylight, she’s a cheerful haenyeo, while the other photo shows her all dressed up in the middle of a club. Han Ji Min turned into a haenyeo for the first time in her career. It is said that she had to work especially hard to overcome her fear of water for the role.

Her co-star Kim Woo Bin is making his long-awaited comeback to the small screen. He’s playing the kind-hearted captain of a ship, Park Jung Joon. He stayed a skipper even when everyone was leaving for the big city for his home-island and his family. All he dreams of is to live happily with the woman he loves. He’s also a romanticist who lives by the ocean after remodeling an abandoned bus into a cafe.

The first stills of Kim Woo Bin show him on the ship with haenyeos and selling the fish at the market. What especially catches the attention is how tanned he looks to play the captain who always works under the blistering sun.

Meanwhile, Our Blues is a collaborative project between writer Noh Hee Kyung and Kim Kyu Tae, who have previously produced wonderful dramas like That Winter, the Wind Blows and It’s Okay, That’s Love. The show will premiere on April 9th at 9:10 PM KST.
