SM Entertainment will be launching a new project girl group, Girls On Top (GOT).

In August 2019, SM Entertainment announced the launch of a new boy group consisting of members of SHINee, EXO, and NCT. The group called SuperM debuted later that year. GOT takes a similar form.

This is the label’s new concept project in which female artists from SM show new combinations of units under each theme. Starting with the first unit “GOT the beat,” SM plans to introduce various combinations and units, raising expectations.

GOT the beat is a unit based on intense dance songs and performances. This 7-member unit consists of BoA, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon; Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy; and aespa’s Karina and Winter. The group will hold a special stage at SMTOWN’s upcoming free online concert, slated for January 1st, 2022. Additionally, their first song will also be released on various music platforms on January 3rd at 6 PM KST.

At midnight on the 27th, SM released the first teaser of GOT the beat, announcing the grand start of another big project.
