MBC has decided to make a TV adaptation of �the popular Naver webtoon, Golden Spoon (literal title), and premiere sometime next summer.
Golden Spoon is a story about a child who was born into a poor family. Soon, he gets his hands on a magical golden spoon that allows him to switch lives with his rich friend. The story asks the question of whether it’s possible to exchange family for money and which choice would bring the most happiness.
Yook Sungjae will star the series as Lee Sung Cheon, who dreams of changing his fate with the magical golden spoon. Golden Spoon will be his first work since his was discharged from his military service on November 14th.
Song Hyun Wook will be running the show as he has previously exec produced The King’s Affection, Another Miss Oh, and The Beauty Inside. Yun Eung Kyeong and Kim Eung Hee, the writers of Prime Minister and I, My Fair Lady, and Winter Sonata, will be penning the script.
Samhwa Networks, the production company which presented Dr. Romantic and Now, We Are Breaking Up, and Studio N of True Beauty, Sweet Home, and Yumi’s Cells will collaborate to offer the series to the public.
