[Weekly TV Top 10] ‘Jirisan’ Starts Off Strong with Highest Premiere Ratings of Any tvN Dramas

Drama Ranking for the 3rd Week of October

tvN’s Jirisan, which became the hottest topic even before the premiere, started off at No. 1. Though the awkward visual effects and OST and excessive product placement were pointed out as a hindrance, the drama heralded a big shift in tone even from the premiere episode by putting Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon in an accident. Naturally, responses like, “Kim Eun Hee did it again, as expected,” were followed. KBS’s The King’s Affection, which announced the start of a romance between Park Eun Bin and Rowoon as they reunited as student and teacher, kept its place at No. 2. Many showed satisfaction over the two actors’ looks. tvN’s Yumi’s Cells also ranked third once again. Kim Go Eun and Ahn Bo Hyun started having conflicts in the face of reality after moving in together, drawing attention to the ending of season one. SBS’s Lovers of the Red Sky moved up one notch to fourth place, but there were many disappointing reactions to the dragging story. MBC’s The Veil and JTBC’s Lost came in sixth and seventh, respectively.

Non-Drama Ranking for the 2nd Week of October

Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter and Girls Planet 999 took first and second place side by side as attention focused on who would be the final winner. KBS’s 2 Days & 1 Night Season 4 ranked third as the controversy over Kim Seon Ho’s personal life became a hot potato. The show completely cut Kim Seon Ho out from episode 97, but some viewers complained that such a decision was unnecessary. tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, which invited Squid Game star Jung Ho Yeon as the guest, ranked at No.6, proving viewers’ interest in the actress.
