‘Squid Game’ Earns Two 2021 Gotham Awards Nominations

Netflix original series Squid Game and its star Lee Jung Jae have been nominated for the 31st annual Gotham Awards.

According to Hollywood media Variety, Lee Jung Jae will be competing with Ethan Hawk of The Good Road Bird and Anya Taylor Joy of Queens Gambit for Outstanding Performance in a New Series award. 

Squid Game has so far earned two nominations at the award, including the Outstanding Performance in a New Series and the Breakthrough Series – Long Format (over 40 minutes) award. The works that will be competing for this award are The Good Lord Bird, It’s A SinSmall AxeThe Underground Railroad and The White Lotus.

Meanwhile, there have been multiple reports about Squid Game being watched in a total of 142 million households worldwide, and this marks the best record in Netflix history.

The 31st annual Gotham Awards ceremony will be held on November 29th at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
