What would it be like to disband only five days after the official debut? What would it feel like to have the long-awaited launch pushed back by a week? The girl group SOLIA and the boy group LUMINOUS are at the center of these unfortunate circumstances.
The new girl group SOLIA has announced their disbandment only five days after their official debut on August 23rd. SOLIA is a five-member girl group that released a debut album, DREAM, on August 17th. On the 22nd, SOLIA’s agency confirmed the group’s disbandment on its official social media channels. The agency shared, “Due to our financial circumstances, we are no longer able to keep SOLIA going. So, we have decided to wrap up the group’s activities after having long discussions with the members. Even though it was a short period of time, we would like to thank you. And we apologize to those fans who supported and loved the group.”
The boy band LUMINOUS was scheduled to launch their group on September 1st but postponed their debut due to a confirmed COVID-19 case in the team. According to their agency BarunsonWIP on August 23rd, LUMINOUS’s Young Bin was tested positive for COVID-19. Luckily, the rest of the members tested negative, but they had to start their self-quarantine as they were classified as close contacts. Consequently, the agency issued a statement, “We have decided to postpone the release of LUMINOUS’s first mini-album, which was originally scheduled to be up on September 1st.”
