BTS Tops Japanese Oricon Chart for Three Week Straight

BTS’ Japanese album BTS, THE BEST, topped Japan’s Oricon Weekly Album chart for three weeks straight.

According to the latest chart released by Oricon on the 6th (based on the data collected from June 28th to July 4th), BTS, THE BEST, ranked at No.1 on the Weekly Album chart. Starting from June 28th, they stayed at No.1 for three weeks straight and sold 885,000 copies total.

This year, BTS is the only singer who maintained to be on the top of the chart for three weeks straight. They sold 782,000 copies on the first week of release and achieved the best first-week sales record in 2021. Moreover, such a record surpassed the figure of their fourth full-length album, MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 ~ THE JOURNEY ~‘s first-week sales record, of which they have sold 564,000 copies. Furthermore, they broke their previous record of having the best first-week album sales as a foreign male artist.

BTS, THE BEST is an all-inclusive album with all songs released in Japan for the last four years from 2017, including the Japanese songs “Film Out” and “Dynamite” and 23 other tracks.
