According to media outlets, Gyuri’s boyfriend Song Ja Ho, also known as the eldest grandson of Dongwon Construction founder Song Seung Hun, was caught drunk driving in Cheongdamdong. He reportedly fled the scene after hitting another vehicle in the parking lot. At the time, his blood-alcohol level was high enough for the cancellation of his license. Song is also accused of confinement as he allegedly confined a woman in the car even when she requested to be dropped off.

The next day, Song’s legal representative released an official statement. In it, they admitted and apologized for the DUI charge. “The designated driver said that Song’s vehicle looks unfamiliar, and he doesn’t know how to operate it. So Song made a big mistake of getting behind the wheels under the influence,” they wrote. “Song deeply regrets this, and he is determined never to drink and drive again.”

However, they strongly denied the hit and run and confinement allegations.

According to the statement, Song slightly bumped into the car parked next as he started his car. But having been under the influence, Song just told the valets his insurance information and left. The legal firm added, “Since the collision occurred in a parking lot and there were no casualties, it can’t be considered a hit and run.”

They also denied confining a woman who was sitting in the passenger seat. According to their explanation, Song only wanted to drop off her near the main street for her to ride a bus or taxi safely. The woman is Song’s acquaintance, and the two of them met for dinner to talk about business.
