Lee Da Hee may step into Seo Ye Ji’s shoes in OCN’s Island.

According to media outlets, Lee Da Hee was offered to take the lead in OCN’s Island. Initially, Seo Ye Ji was to play the lead role, but she eventually exited the production when various rumors about her have hit the wire.

In response, the production team proceeded with the casting process again, and they selected the best candidate, Lee Da Hee. The actress’s agency Santa Claus Entertainment confirmed the news, saying, “Lee Da Hee was offered the role and is positively reviewing it.”

Based on the webtoon of the same name, Island centers around the folk tale that’s passed down in Jeju Island. The plot revolves around three characters: a man who needs a woman to end his cursed immoral life, a woman who does not know of the cruel fate that awaits her, and an exorcist who is swept by guilt after failing to protect a girl.

It is expected to be a heartwarming yet peculiar fantasy exorcism drama about those who can’t seemingly be paired. Together, they work and sacrifice themselves on the Island with the heavenly scenery that harbors evil darkness.

Island is a tentpole project that was planned as a seasonal series from the getgo. Kim Nam Gil joined the project as the male lead, and Cha Eun Woo is also in talks for a role.
