It has been confirmed that O&Entertainment, Kim Jung Hyun‘s former agency, has been preparing to wrap up their business.
O&Entertainment shared that since April, it had applied to Korea Entertainment Management Association to make a dispute settlement about the total period of Kim Jung Hyun’s exclusive contract.
The agency pointed out that Kim Jung Hyun, who stepped down from MBC’s series Time in 2018, was preparing to change his management company. Plus, they claimed that such a move is not acceptable because the term of his contract would remain valid due to his hiatus in 2018.
However, according to a document, obtained exclusively by YTN Star, O&Entertainment had already been in the process of closing its business as of March 31th. In fact, they issued dismissal notices to their employees, including the managers.
As a result, Kim Jung Hyun fell into a situation where he cannot receive any support as an actor from O& Entertainment. And reportedly, he even heard about the agency’s status from the source around him.
An official said, “At that time when the holding company was considering the closure of O& Entertainment, we talked about extending the contract with him because he was the only source of income of the company. So, we thought that if he continues to stay, there would have been a chance we could continue our business.”
In the end, Kim Jung Hyun submitted a document saying he would remain until the expiration of his contract.
