Ma Dong Seok(Don Lee) will participate in another Hollywood production following Marvel Studios’ Eternals. He has joined The Club, an American remake of Trap, as an actor and producer.
On the 20th, Deadline reported, “Korean-American action star Don Lee and production partner Chris S. Lee are teaming with Starlings Television to make The Club, a series based on the popular Korean format Trap. ”
The Club follows a detective as he investigates a mysterious group of hunters who have attacked a famous news anchor and his family on a camping trip. Ma Dong Seok plays a veteran detective who lost his son. As he chases after the twisted mystery orchestrated by an elite and powerful group, he slowly finds out a shocking truth.
The Club will be a rare American adaptation of a Korean project that features a Korean lead. Sons of Anarchy writer Jack LoGiudice pens the script. And Starlings Television president Chris Philip and Starlings Entertainment CEO Karine Martin were tapped as executive producers.
Chris Philip expressed his excitement, saying, “The Club will bring U.S. and global audiences a premium, serialized drama series showcasing one of the high-profile stars of this year’s most highly anticipated superhero films. Korean drama is delightfully shocking, and our team will ensure this adaptation delivers the authenticity.”
