ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo is in talks to join Kim Nam Gil and Seo Ye Ji for OCN’s new fantasy exorcism drama Island.

Earlier today, a media outlet reported that Cha has been cast for the role of Yohan Skelp. In response, Fantagio shared, “Cha Eun Woo was offered the role and is positively reviewing it.”

Based on the webtoon of the same name, Island revolves around a man who needs a woman to end his cursed immoral life, a woman who does not know of the cruel fate that awaits her, and an exorcist who is swept by guilt after failing to protect a girl. It is expected to be a heartwarming yet peculiar fantasy exorcism drama about those, who can’t seemingly be paired together, working together and sacrificing themselves in the island that has the heavenly scenery but also harbors evil darkness.

If he confirms his appearance, Cha will play exorcist Kang Chan Hyuk, also known as Yohan Skelp. He is the 132nd apostle of the Vatican and the priest of Manhatten’s Trinity Church who still has innocent and boyish charms. Although he grew up in the U.S., but he studied Korean through K-drama to never forget his origin. Though he seems parky, he has a dark past that he had to endure.

Initially, the role was offered to Im Si Wan, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

Island, starring Seo Ye Ji and Kim Nam Gil, will start filming this spring. It’s mostly filmed in Jeju Island, and OCN already confirmed that it will be produced in two 10-part series.
