April’s agency has made an additional announcement on its position on the claims made on online communities.
Regarding Jeon Somin, they said that “she joined the company at the age of 16 and has been silently, but constantly practicing for a long time. After April’s debut, she worked hard to play the role of the leader of the team. The claim that she hated certain members and bullied them, is false.”
As for the rumor about the tumbler cups, DSP Media stated that there were about 40 to 50 cups in the dorm, and one of them had contained stew in it as members had it in the practice room. “Lee Naeun apologized immediately when Lee Hyunjoo said that it was her tumbler. Lee Hyunjoo also shared it with the members at the time,” they claim.
“The company gave members 12 pairs of the same shoes which were a mixture of 2 types. And the situation has happened as four of the members had the same size,” they added, while also stating that the post claiming that a particular member was cursed out before air-time is untrue.

We are making an additional statement to make our official position clear regarding the posts on communities.

We are adding an explanation regarding the disreputable incident between Miss Lee Hyunjoo and members of April which had been posted on the community.
While we did not want to mention this as all individuals were artists under our company, the seriousness of the situation has led us to provide an explanation after reconfirmation.
- About Jeon Somin
Jeon Somin joined the company at the age of 16 and has been silently, but constantly practicing for a long time. After April’s debut, she worked hard to play the role of the leader of the team. The claim that she hated certain members and bullied them, is false.
As Jeon Somin and Kim Chaewon spent more than 3 years together as trainees at the company and had formed a close relationship, there is no reason they would slander someone to get closer to each other.

We even checked CCTV footage of places including the practice room in which Lee Hyunjoo claims she had been a victim, but we could not find any of the mentioned situations. We would like to inform you that this fact was shared not only with Lee Hyunjoo but also with her mother, as soon as it was confirmed.
- About the Manager
It is true that April members had a particularly close relationship with a female manager with whom they spent 24 hours a day together with. The part about the relationship with the mentioned manager is groundless, and they have never silenced wrongdoings due to favoritism.
- About Greeting Lee Hyunjoo’s Mother
April members also recognized that it was a serious situation and silently bowed, as they did not know what to say. This is what caused such misunderstanding.
WE are sorry for the current situation in which we have to make such an explaining statement. However, due to the uncertainty of a third party who did not witness the situation at the time, we can no longer stand the members getting slandered and thus the explanation about past events.
Shortly after the unpleasant news about Lee Hyunjoo and April members, unconfirmed posts were being made as if they were true. April members are having a hard time due to these baseless posts.
We will take hard-line legal actions against not only posting unconfirmed false information and spreading it but also those who post edited photos on online communities.
