CL released a new song “Wish You Were Here” in memory of her deceased mother on Feb 26, her birthday.
On the same day, CL wrote a heartfelt message on her Instagram with a picture of her and her mom: “Every year, our birthdays should be in celebration of the Gift of Life our mothers gave us. This year, I made Wish You Were Here for my mom, my family and anyone else who misses a loved one. If you love someone, tell them now.”
Instead of falling in despair after her mother suddenly passed away about a month before her birthday, CL delivered the most heartfelt letter to her mother in her most familiar language, music.
The song, written by CL herself, recalls conversations she had with her mother on the phone one day in the past and a playlist they made together and expresses her longing for her mother, who now “became an angel.”
CL has no plans of promoting her song “Wish You Were Here” and will continue to focus on her working on her new album Alpha.
