After taking a break for a week, tvN’s entertainment program Youn’s Stay has recorded a rather low viewership rating.
According to Nielsen Korea on the 20th, a ratings research company, the episode of tvN’s Youn’s Stay which aired on the 19th recorded a total of 7.9% (based on households subscribed to paid platforms).
This is a 3.7% drop from their highest viewer rating recorded, which is 11.6%. It is also the lowest it has ever been since the show’s first episode. Such a drop in ratings for Youn’s Stay can be partly explained by the premiere of The Penthouse 2: War in Life which first aired at the same time period. Youn’s Stay and The Penthouse 2 overlap for nearly an hour. It can also be interpreted that the absence of Youn’s Stay on the 12th may have affected this week’s ratings.
This is more so disheartening as the cast expected a rise in their ratings within the episode of Youn’s Stay aired this week. In the show, Youn Yuh Jung was seen to say that she had a dream of being with Chairman Lee Kun Hee the day before. “I was walking with him, leading him,” she explained her dream.
To this, Lee Seo Jin also excitedly said, “I dreamt of becoming a president in Spain. Our ratings exceeded 15%, right? Shouldn’t we expect a 20%?”
