The person who has alleged Jo Byung Gyu’s school bully confessed his falsehood.
On Feb 17, the actor’s agency HB Entertainment stated, “The writer of the false posting contacted the agency. He appealed for leniency after apologizing.”
For the past few days, Jo Byung Gyu was suspected of being the perpetrator of school violence when a series of postings listing out his past misdeeds were posted on online communities. However, the actor and his agency strongly refuted all claims right away and stated that they requested a police investigation.
HB Entertainment, which was later contacted by the writer, shared, “Right after we filed a complaint and requested an investigation to seek punishment for illegal acts against Jo Byung Gyu, the writer of the false post contacted us. The writer turned himself in and admitted that his claims are false, regretted his wrongdoings and misconduct, and appealed for leniency with his apologies.”
“The company ascertained the authenticity of the writer and confirmed that he deleted the false posting himself,” they added.
The agency then stressed, “Considering that the writer reflected on his mistakes and has repeatedly expressed his wish for leniency, we got a promise from him to never commit illegal acts again. However, if similar cases occur or other circumstances arise that cause damages to our actors, we shall do our best to ensure the rights and interest of them.”
